Our longtime friends just bought a cabin near ours at San Clemente Rancho, a 2,600 acre private vacation preserve in Carmel Valley California. Here we're setting up a picnic under a majestic oak on a dazzling mountaintop perch overlooking the Ventana Wilderness and a peek of the Pacific Ocean.
Most of the roads to the rivers, lakes, trails, scenic overlooks and camping areas on the Rancho are paved or easy dirt road but 4 wheel drive is a must for this particular road.
