Lake Effect Snow #7
For those of you who don't live near one of the Great Lakes, lake effect snow is when cold air passing over one of the Lakes picks up moisture, dropping it as snow up to several miles inland. The sky is brighter than usual during these types of snowfalls; snowclouds are normally a solid steel gray.
After the normal snow had fallen by noon on Thursday, February 5, the lake effect snow kept falling until 6pm, adding 2-3" to what was already a 3" snowfall.
