Green Wedge launch flyer

Thursday January 11th 2007

Nice & Sleazy, 421 Sauchiehall St, Glasgow

Doors 8pm, £4, all proceeds to the Scottish Greens

When Thatcher needed a bloody good hiding, Billy Bragg founded Red Wedge and led his army of folkies, post-punks, mods and new-wavers into battle in the pubs and clubs of Britain.

Well, now the oppressor wears a red tie. The privatisations are done on the quiet, the immigration polis don't call the refugee kids 'darkies' when they drag them out of their beds in the pre-dawn, but the wars make the Falklands look like an Outward Bound weekend.

And into this early 21st-century dystopia ride the almighty Green Wedge, led by dashing young cavalry officers like:

You can see these modern-day heroes strike a blow for good and truth at Nice & Sleazy's on Thursday 11th January. It'll cost you a bargain £4, all profits to the Scottish Greens.
