The Ardrossan Daimlers
Western SMT had a varying allocation of Daimler Fleetlines through the years at Ardrossan depot. They were shifted out in the mid 1970s and another batch arrived around about 1979. The trio which returned included two which had been allocated to Ardrossan and moved away NR2125/6 (DSD766/7D) along with an Ayr example NR1990 (BCS973C). These were replaced by some JAG -F examples after a year or two. The DSDs had been converted to fully automatic transmission whch made them less pleasant to travel in. BCS on the other hand was a lovely machine and would have made a great purchase for an independent. Here they repose in the sun at Princes Street behind the depot.
