In my recent dark days, yoga has been a true friend; it gives me strength. I don't know where i would be without it. I am so thankful I have it to rest upon! Large On Black

The story behind the song
Music has always been a constant in my life. It has saved me many times ironically. 17 years ago I moved from Los Angeles to Salt Lake City to be free from the darkest days of my life. I was suicidal. I had just lost one of my best friends to a severe car accident outside of San Fransisco that was prescription drug induced. I also lost a very special friend to a car accident just a year prior. My family was not a support to me in those days. They did not understand me, nor I them! The friends in my life were no good for me, drug addicts and thieves to say the least. So I left California to save my life!
It was New Years Eve. I felt totally alone in the world. As i sat wrapped in a down comforter shivering on a friend's porch swing in the 30 degree snowy weather, i could hear this song playing through the front window glass....it was blasting...the party was over, everyone else had gone to bed inside. As i listened to the words to this song, i realized that life was full of hope and beauty! Madame George saved my life that night.....as i heard the words "when you fall into a trance, sitting on a sofa playing games of chance....that's when you fall" i realized that i was playing games....and falling....it was time to pull myself up! Dust myself off! Keep moving...and I did! Much as my yoga saves me today, Van Morrison saved me all those years ago!
