Nyaguok
This is my new neighbor, she was kind of my captive model day before yesterday when she was obliged by her mom to accompany her little sister to my house, (her little sister was there to play with my girl). I was not able to capture how pretty she is and she grew restless before i could finish, let alone correct and refine the drawing. The drawing is pretty lame but I wanted to post it anyway because it was kind of an amazing experience.... I rarely see people as black as she and all her siblings are, and I've never had the opportunity to draw such an individual before. This skin color is so astonishingly beautiful and so exotic to my drawing experience. I used pastel on black paper, I was totally stumbling around, I can't wait to do it again. She's having the kind of teenage summer that means sleeping til 10 and watching tv the rest of the day, so sitting for portrait cant be much more boring than that.
