once in a lifetime shot!

Normally I would shoot a hummingbird faster than 1/400th. of a second, but I was standing at the far edge of our driveway, taking pictures of something else, and when I turned around I saw a hummer at the feeder. I knew I was too far away to get a good shot, with no time to change the shutter speed, but I just figured ' What the heck' and clicked away anyway. (Sometimes being OCD pays off!)
A relatively slow shutter speed, at a distance, isn't really a winning formula for a good hummer shot.
I just got reeeeally lucky! ; ) I must have (unknowingly) aimed directly at his eye in order to get a salvageable picture out of this tight a crop. When I saw this in the back of the camera, I crossed my fingers and hoped like crazy that it would turn out like this. I think it looks like he's treading water in some kind of green 'bokeh pond'! ; )
