First Look: 1957 Asahi Pentax AP

I was quite excited to get this camera in the mail yesterday - the 1957 Asahi Pentax AP The first, the original "Pentax" camera, the one that started the long legacy of Pentax 35mm single lens reflex cameras, released to the world the same year as me. I've been looking for a good example to buy for years, and was lucky to get this one at a good price on Ebay. The body was recently refurbished by Mark Hama, seems to be in good working order at all shutter speeds, and came with one of the original lenses released with the camera in 1957, the Takumar 58mm F2.0 preset lens. Taken with my newest Pentax, the K-1 Mark II DSLR (2018) and the HD Pentax-FA 31mm F1.8 Limited lens (2021). I'm looking forward to shooting a test roll with it this weekend.
