The Turkish Grand National Assembly, which was opened on April 23, 1920, is the ultimate symbol of the superiority of national sovereignty and it aims to serve our children’s welfare and happiness in the first place. Atatürk dedicated the historical opening day of the national assembly to our future, the children.
In 1979, which was celebrated by the UNICEF as the children’s year, April 23 was also recognized as the International Children’s Day. Since than The Turkish Children have been sharing the privilege of joyously celebrating this unique day with the rest of the world’s children
Every April 23, TRT (Turkish Radio Television) organizes a very colorful and cheerful festival in which 600 children from more than 30 countries. The children guests hosted by voluntary Turkish families leave the country with unforgettable memories of the universal hospitality.
