Erin Blatzer says: The color here is just stunning, and it reminds me that I need to 1) get a better handle on my camera's settings and 2) actually get outside once in a while.

Erin Blatzer says: There's just so much here - the silhouette, the composition, the b&w. I love this image, especially because it features a person, something I have thus far been very unsuccessful at capturing well.

Erin Blatzer says: I typically focus on details or inanimate objects, but some of my favorite photographs find unique ways to feature people. I love everything about this image - the little girl's almost-visible face, the color on the balloons, the fleetingness of the moment.

Erin Blatzer says: I tend to bump up the color on my images but this is a reminder that neutral color can result in images of haunting beauty.

Erin Blatzer says: Karen is without doubt my favorite photographer of people. And I think her eye comes from truly seeing them and what makes them beautiful. (More about that in her stunning new book.) I love so many of her images, but this one caught my eye because it's just so...different. (And beautiful.)

Erin Blatzer says: I was planning on using one of Ed's fabulous interior shots but chose this one instead because if there's one thing I would love to learn, it's lighting. particularly, how to use flash well. I can't believe how well this shot turned out, given the number of light sources shining. Awesome.

Erin Blatzer says: Another technique to learn! Plus, reinforcement for the idea that a point of focus isn't always necessary.

Erin Blatzer says: I LOVE the adventures of Wage and Icebat. Sandy finds such creative ways to incorporate these clever characters into her shots - and they always force an interesting new perspective. Definitely inspiration to break Domo's homebody streak.
