North Blyth LH
Continuing my ship theme for a bit longer this shot of Bristol LH/ECW WHN584M of United taken in April 1984 at North Blyth is one of my all time favourite shots.
I am not sure how I ended up here but it as I was living in Newcastle at the time it was probably one of my Saturday afternoon jaunts, I suspect to see the ex LT DMS’s of Bedlington and District, which incidentally were based at Ashington the ultimate destination of United service 444 on which LH 1584 was operating. Ashington was to become its final destination less than a year later in January 1985 when it was “broken for spares”
On board appears to be one passenger plus the driver’s groupie. Unfortunately none of the three ships in the background can be identified, possible fortunately nor can the passenger or groupie.
