Divi Divi Tree
The Divi Divi Tree is the trademark of the island of Aruba. The northeasterly trade winds cause these trees to gracefully and reliably bend to the southwest, making them a reliable compass. This particular tree is located on Eagle Beach, just across from the La Cabana Resort. It has an unusual amount of character and, to me, is reminiscent of a woman sitting cross-legged and reclining.
This photo is dedicated to Ilse Schoen. She approached me while I was shooting and we discussed her daughter's interest in photography. I hope they enjoy seeing what I was in the process of creating when we chatted.
BTW, this photo hangs in the room where my wife goes to relax, which has a beach theme. No surprise, as Aruba is one of her favorite places.
