Stupid Face
I really want to rant. So I'm afraid I'm going to.
This week started on a double downer which thankfully spurred me into action with the aim of sorting my life out.
Was making more of an effort to applying for jobs, started taking more photo's, submitted a pic for a photo challenge and though of a good photography project to keep the momentum going on the picture taking front.
[The project involved taking pictures of local LS6 businesses for free so that they could use them for promo stuff and I'd manage to get my name out there and some nice portraits blah blah...]
Today started off amazingly, went for a run [This is unheard of!] Then spent all afternoon crawling round the garden taking pictures of bugs before trying to a do self portrait, something I really hate doing.
I'm procrastinating because I'm finding this therapeutic
So... as I was finishing my shift at the bar I work in, I got a phone call saying we'd been broken into. Cue panic.
[skip personal drama - though my friend and house mate was safe thank funk]
So police turn up and ask if anything’s been taken. My room at this point looks like it's suffered with fatal diarrhea and vomiting as there's shit everywhere. Look at the shelves were my photography stuff is kept and can see several of my shinny Nikkor primes and all my Olympus film OM gear. So stop fretting about my uninsured camera gear.
So after doing some stuff like removing the front door lock so that the door closes and trying to secure the place, had a proper look at my room. Turns out the ##### made off with some stuff I cared about . My SB-900, 60mm Macro, 28~85mm, radio triggers and my P-series Cokin filters.
I've had to stop looking to see what else is missing, hence why I'm typing a load of drivel.
But on the massive plus side I still have my D700 which was with me at work and the 28mm, 50mm & 85mm primes which where left alone.
And you know what, as much as I'm upset right now, it's also making me see this as a challenge to get another decent job, take more photo's and remind myself what it is that I find important in life.
