XX...For the letter "X".

 

I dislike being treated differently because I am a woman. When men get together to talk shop or participate in a common interest, it is always on a peer to peer basis. My gender is quite often outnumbered in my areas of interest. When I get an invitation or even make a new acquaintance I always have to ask why. Am I a pretty face? Do I have a nice figure? Am I photogenic? Perhaps I am just cute or amusing? Or am I a peer with skills of my own? There was a period of time when I lost interest in talking to or shooting with mostly male photographers. I am not a model. I have my own vision. I am just as much a photographer as most of them dammit. And yes, even when it is inconvenient, I am also a woman.
