Sunset Freight
An Eastbound manifest freight is heading compass North through downtown San Antonio in sweet evening light. The train has just passed the Alamodome and Sunset Station, both seen in the background along with Southern Pacific steam engine 794 on display outside the depot. The Amtrak modern Amtrak station is just out of site. The former depot is now the home of the 1902 nightclub and Espee event venue.
This was an unexpected opportunity after we were short of supplies and had to make a trip back to the hotel to feed my infant. While my wife fed him I stepped outside and quickly grabbed shots of two trains in short order. This was the second of the two and ended up being one of my favorite shots of the trip.
