Bleachery

Being born five years after the Guilford takeover, I never got to see the heyday of Boston & Maine railroading. Although it's not a GP9 in McGinnis bluebird scheme, there is still something timeless about a blue Geep under classic searchlights. Pan Am train POAY (Portland, ME to Ayer, MA) is seen headed West under the signals at CPF-BY (Bleachery). The Bleachery section of Lowell was nicknamed for its factories. The area was once a booming industrial area, home to many B&M customers including Prince Spaghetti. Yes, it is still a classic EMD locomotive running on original Boston & Maine trackage. I'll take it.
