Manchester Built
Boston & Maine 410 was built in June 1911 at the Manchester Locomotive Works in Manchester, NH. The locomotive served the B&M until 1950 often working the tight industrial spurs of Lowell. In its second life, it worked at a Quarry for a short time before being slated for display at the B&M shops at North Billerica. When that plan did not work out the locomotive was moved to its current location on Dutton Street in Lowell next to the National Streetcar Museum where it has been since 1993. The 410 is maintained by volunteers from the Boston and Maine Railroad Historical Society.
