Puff-throated Babbler - Pellorneum ruficeps

Bird mist-netted in lowland dry forest in Phnom Tamao Forest Reserve, Kandal Province, Cambodia. A secretive babbler of thickets, travels in small flocks. These are photos from a recent field expedition to Cambodia undertaken by the UC Davis Museum of Wildlife and Fish Biology and Cambodian Forestry Administration. There have been few ornithological surveys undertaken in Cambodia. This is the first of, we hope, a series of trips to survey remote regions.
