Relief mural, People's Memory Complex (II)

Part of relief mural at the Halk Hakydasy ('People's Memory') Memorial Complex that honours those killed in the Battle of Geok Tepe in 1881, in World War II, and the casualties of the 1948 Ashgabat earthquake. It is made from marble imported from Turkey and Italy.

 

The complex covers 650 thousand square metres and includes a museum behind this wall, buildings for the Muslim rite sadaqah, plus nearby fountains, lawns and flower beds.
