With cargo truck, matatu and driver bokeh .... captured while waiting for a mechanic to fix Carmelita's Suzuki. On Saturday, a group of us drove the two hours west of Nairobi to Lake Elementaita in a three-car caravan. When a radiator hose in Carmelita's SUV burst near Naivasha, we pulled off behind a toll plaza on the Nairobi-Nakuru Highway and consulted with some of the truck drivers there. A mechanic quickly diagnosed the problem and rigged up a solution, applying tire glue, sand and strips of rubber to patch the hole. The roadside fix held for the rest of the trip.
