Isle of Pines Beach & Tourists - Back Online for a Time - Columnar pines (Araucaria columnaris)
I am so sorry I have not been online. The modem was faulty which I have been trying to tell aapt for 4 months!! They have caused me nothing but stress. Don't change to aapt if you are thinking of doing that. I was off the internet for 8 days while waiting for replacement modem which is not allowing me to use any security online. Had this in big chunks. now.
Sorry I am so far behind. The fungi writer is here with me now - Bruce Fuhrer - and we have been out and around, but next week this conference starts on fungi at Tinaroo and I will be there for a week.
This photo is just one I grabbed from a folder on The Isle of Pines. I walked right around one beach and this is just a general view, nothing special. These are probably French tourists for the Isle of Pines is part of New Caledonia controlled by France. I found the pines strange. They look like this all over the islands and look a bit like the Norfolk Island pine I am used to, but much thinner.
