Wide angle confetti fields, Wick near Pershore, Worcestershire
The first time I visited these fields was in 2013, on a beautiful summer's evening. Apart from members of my photographic club there was no-one around, you could go where you like, the farmer had left a wagon we could clamber up on - and all free. Last Thursday this casual arrangement had turned into a major tourist attraction, with hundreds of cars and thousands (through the day) of people. Including a significant number of parents and grandparents with toddlers, all served by a cafe in a marquee, an ice cream stall, a flower selling enterprise....And the entrance fee was £5.00. No complaint from me. The delphiniums, poppies, cornflowers destined to become confetti had turned into something else.
