Sheep and model boats, Withybed Green, Alvechurch

My friend Peter sent me the following message, which he baited with the promise of a pint and some fine ham, egg and chips (true) - 'There is a do at the Crown, Alvechurch, by the Worcester, Birmingham and Droitwich Canals Society to celebrate their 50th year. This is on Saturday 13 April 12 noon to 5pm, pub open for drink and food. Boat trips, live interviews, live poetry readings, live music and much else. Model boats and falconry might be photogenic. Car park might be full. wbdcs.org.uk/50th-anniversary-2019-april-13th/ '

So we went. It's the beginning of the British fetes and festivals season so we ignored the cold for a few hours - we did have a pub to duck into if necessary, and it made a break from Brexit!
