Jacaranda quackaranda

Last Sunday I went to Baddesley Clinton, a National Trust house in Warwickshire. The courtyard there has buildings around all four sides and it was warm enough to sit outside (which is rare enough in England) and enjoy some tea and cake, or an ice cream. And there was some suitable period entertainment, a recently formed recorder quartet called Jacaranda, playing some appropriate Tudor pieces in the main, and sounding rather wonderful in this setting. I may be slightly biased because my wife was one of the players, but they were really very good.

There were lots of small children there and they were all fascinated, maybe because they do not often see live music, especially played by four ladies of a certain age!

Baddesley Clinton is perhaps best known for being one of the strongholds of the Catholic faith in Tudor times. See Wikipedia for more information:- ttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baddesley_Clinton
