Intro to the V&A, via the back door
Like as not you you enter the V&A via the 'tradesman's entrance', accessed direct from a tunnel from South Kensington Tube Station, to be greeted by Eric Gill's shapely piece of Sculpture porn, entitled, for some reason, 'Mankind'. It deserves a much better photo than mine.
You walk on a few yards and then you start to smile, because this place is just wonderful, by turns funny and thrilling.
The smile never left my face for four hours, when we left by the main entrance, after decending the knock 'em dead marble staircase.
