I sat in a hide at Feckenham Wylde Moor in Worcestershire for just about 40 minutes on 3 March. In that short time I learned why Coots are often called Crazy. About every 10 minutes the testosterone levels in the males (I take it) appeared to go through roof as one went after the other with cooticidal intent. Rest a little and repeat. Of course I know little about Coots and stand to be corrected on any of this.
