A Graduate of Pomona
William Henry Hunt, Devotion (?) (c. 1850)
The girl with upturned eyes in this watercolor may be an image of Hunt's daughter, Emma. The fact that this watercolor was consigned for sale at auction by descendants of William Henry Hunt probably supports this conclusion, since Hunt would have more likely retained for himself an image of his daughter than a painting showing an unrelated model.
