Orange Jinty
It is over 50 years since I lived and worked in Wakefield but I remember a few lunch breaks spent down at Crigglestone with ex BR Jinty No 47445 working at the NCB site which I believe was operated by Hargreaves. The loco received a coat of orange paint on its side tanks and bunker, I suppose to emphasise it was no longer in BR stock. Coal was taken either to a shute for loading on barges on the Calder and Hebble Navigation or to the exchange sidings with BR. The line curving to the left leads to the canal and the line straight ahead to the exchange sidings. 27th January 1969.
