Lost 195/365 11/13/08

After the disappointment behind the door, Bingo and Frankencow decided to walk down the long corridor and see what they could find. Eventually, Frankie noticed a side hall and she and Bingo decided it was worth exploring.

Almost immediately their surroundings changed. A paved path twisted and turned before them. Bingo decided it was time for a rest.

"Okay," Frankie said, "I think we should just keep following this path. It has to lead somewhere."

"Yeah, sure," Bingo replied, "maybe right up to the door of the big bad wolf. I say we turn back and try a different route."

"Why are you being difficult?" Frankie asked. Usually she was the doubter, the one who held back.

"I'm just trying to keep us safe," Bingo said defensively. "You seem hell-bent on just getting us beheaded or something."

Frankie's look became obstinate. "I'm going to follow this path. I have a feeling about it."

"Well, I'm not willing to wander blindly down a path that leads who knows where," Bingo answered, just as stubborn as Frankencow.

"You're both headed for trouble," said a third voice, coming from up ahead.

Frankie and BIngo both turned to see who was there, but it was so close to dark that all they could make out was a form lying on a park bench.

"It's a bum," Bingo said out of the side of his mouth. "Be real still and maybe he won't see us."

"He already knows we're here!" Frankie answered in the same manner, but she didn't dare move a muscle.
