Day 59-Dad was out of the house and Mum asked me about the other Dario Argento movies weve talked about and saw on the prevues when we saw Suspiria the second time at the Drafthouse. I chose this one because it has James Franciscus and Karl Malden in the main parts. Its a Giallo (yellow in Italian, denoting mystery style novels with yellow covers in Italy) and part of his "Animal Trilogy" (only animal names in the titles tying them together), this being the second one. Its pretty good but a bit clunky in some parts and the ending is satisfying to a point. The gore isnt as high and the previous film, The Bird with the Crystal Plumage or as his later films but its still pretty cool to see a progression of things he uses in other films like POV and lingering shots that create tension.
Funny story with this one, I got this DVD at a sort of big box store kind of in the middle of nowhere when I was staying with my Nana for a brief period over a summer and it was the second Dario Argento movie i had ever seen to that point.
