Abies Magnifica
We drove up a ragged and rough dirt road to 6000' on the back of Mount Shasta where we encountered the magnificent Shasta Red Fir (Abies Magnifica). It only grows at 4600' - 8600' elevation in the mountains of northern California and southwestern Oregon.
