Days of the Dead
A composite of two semi-smart phone images and a few words from Miguel De Ozarko:
All along
the boulevard
of elms, under
a leaf tapestry,
our dearly departed
wait in dreamless sleep,
still, silent for years,
centuries, velvet beds
gone to dust, chiffon
gowns faded, uniforms
in tatters, they wait
so long, adieu,
for the last trumpet’s
call, for their gleaming
suits of light, for
the next new,
unending life.
