Grunion Run - Cabrillo Beach

by TaiPics

From March to August here in southern California a particular species of fish called the grunion swims ashore to mate. Vera and I decided to head down to San Pedro to see it during the closed season, when hunting of the grunion is banned. Besides, it seemed an appropriate activity for Earth Day.

Oh, and by the way, this set is all done in BetaRGB; so, it will look best on color-managed browsers (Safari and Firefox 3 also OmniWeb and OSX IE when ColorSync is checked). I've thought a lot about tagging the photos with sRGB, but color-managed browsers are going to continue to become more prevalent and I prefer the latitude offered by BetaRGB.
