Safe House

After we parted ways with Erik, our house was so hot and filled with ash/smoke that we fled to our friends' (Billy and Lauri) place for the night.

 

The above photo was taken during the next night of the fire when we found that the air in our house was again too much for us to handle. Fortunately, we have generous friends, and so we were able to escape from our place in Highland Park to Ryan Jones' downtown loft for a bit. We had dinner, watched the fire from his telescope, and just generally enjoyed the cool, clean air.
