Pullip hybrid

My other doll, a Pullip Nahh-Ato, in tan skin (yay) arrived today.

I barely opened the parcel when I pounced on modifying her. Her hair was dreadful, so off it came. the clothing i don't need because I'm re-bodying her - I may try it on my Basaak doll for size.

Now these pics are BAD. I'm a bit rushed and slightly stressed today, so my hands are very shaky, I promise better pictures of her at some point.

Taking the head apart to get to the eye mechanism was easy enough. Getting the eye mechanism out was easy enough too.... Getting the b*****d thing back in was a different story! I did get to the point where I thought I'd never get it back in and working again, but patience and stubbornness paid off.

I'm too scared to change her eye chips now. I have some ordered, but getting the eye mechanism back in again is filling me with dread.

It wasn't as if I even needed to take out the eye thing, because all I wanted to do today was to rebody her. I've been inspired by a couple of rebodied Pullips here on flickr, one other Nahh-Ato was put on a Barbie fashionista body and I wanted to do the same. (See birdie's stuff here: www.flickr.com/photos/another-me-net/6476200631/in/faves-... )

My reasons for re-bodying:

I don't much like Pullip bodies.

A pullip head on it's original body has little neck movement. It can't look down, or up, only side to side, but with a little careful modding, the shape of a Barbie neck means you can get the Pullip head to pose really nicely.

Her body colour was slightly different to her head colour, the Barbie body was a much better match. (It doesn't look that way in the pics, my lighting sucks, but in real life, it's a much better match to the head)

Also, Barbies are a nice size for clothes making. I like making clothing in that size. I've made perfect Pullip outfits in the past, but I haven't enjoyed it as much.

And I just like the scale of the Barbie body with the Pullip head.

She's not nearly as shiny as the Bassak was, but does look quite shiny in the pics. But as you can see even the Barbie body looks shiny in this lighting.

I wonder if a coat of MSC on the Pullip face would dull down the sheen? I may give that a go, if I have the bravery to take the head apart again.

I forgot to take before and after pics, so here's a shot with the Pullip body for comparison. Due to the poor lighting, everything looks a completely different colour than the previous picture.
