The New York City Skyline from Within the Skyline
Most photos of the Manhattan skyline that I see on the Web are from the side, taken from either the East or Hudson Rivers. I took this shot, with a mild telephoto, from a 26-story rooftop, just north of Washington Square in Greenwich Village. The view is to the north. The telephoto offers some compression and, I hope, something of an abstract feel to the image. For me it invokes some of George Gershwin's music.
