Kid inside

For this weeks Flickr Friday challenge "zipper", I came up with the concept for this early on because I do believe that staying in touch with our inner child really does have an impact the amount of joy we get out of life, but I didn't shoot the main image of me on the lawn until this afternoon, and the editing took about 6-hours!

Thankfully I was able to find an old studio portrait of me when I was around 9 I think (the photo wasn't dated).

Of course, I had to scan a copy of that, then cut out, color correct and do some dodge & burn work to bring it more in line with something I would shoot today.

I did still end up doing some additional color matching between the kid photo and the new shot, as well as add some noise & blur to the new photo to try and blend them together, but it was the creation of the zipper and the puppet warping used to "open" me up that took forever.

That all said, I am pleased with how it ultimately turned out, but glad to be moving on to my growing list of other photo projects.
