Refuge
Marnie and I visited this lovely local nature reserve, where it's shady but usually very muddy, many lakes close together in 26 acres. No mud on the narrow paths this day, so great has been the dry and heat for such a long time.
There are a number of 'pools', this being the largest, surrounded by fringes of woodland, wetlands and a wildflower meadow, making it an oasis for wildlife. This is the biggest of the pools and we walked all the way round it, and a couple of others pools too. I have so many photographs of the various beautiful places along the way, it was magic. I saw only TWO other people, in all the time we were out, and they hardly noticed us, as they were so engrossed in each other π !
