The Rabaçal Valley, Madeira in 2003
I recently found this picture of one of the most beautiful places I've ever been in. Taken in 2003 in wonderful Madeira, where Trevor and I had a holiday and loved it. I doubt if this view is quite the same now, so unblemished by humans. We were on our way to the '25 fountains' in the south west of the island. Any of you who've ever been there will know how breathtaking that place is, although it's not suitable for those with a fear of heights ! I can't find any photos of the end of the walk, the '25 Springs' yet. I don't even know if I took any, it was truly overwhelming, so I was probably lost in the sheer beauty and eager to explore. Madeira was the place where I first fell in love with Fado, the traditional music of Portugal.
