The bright side of the moon

"Come, grow your leaves upon me

Make me your rose tree

I am only a skeleton without you."

This is the most photographed tree in Sutton Park - half dead, half alive, it struggles on year after year.

Sutton Park is my local 'big' park, dating from the 9th Century. It's the 7th largest urban park in Europe and the 2nd largest outside a capital city. The park covers 2,400 acres with a mix of heathland, wetlands and marshes, seven lakes and extensive ancient woodlands.

Many thanks to Lenabem-Anna for 2 of her beautiful textures.
