Shedding Light

I've heard it said that Fort Macon is haunted. There was a lone soldier/caretaker that (according to some) died at the fort and his ghost haunts the property. Others say that civil war soldiers continue to look for attacking troops atop the fort. Some reference Blackbeard's crew, who's ship "Queen Annes Revenge" sunk very close to the fort. Prisoner's have been locked up in this fort. An execution possibly happened at the fort. It's cold, wet, and sometimes very strange feeling in this place. You can see the many patches on the fort walls that have been repaired from severe damage taken from war. Makes one wonder how many people died in this place.
