MLB 2016 SEASON
The 2016 MLB season openers are almost upon us. Last season's World Series participants - The Royals & The Mets will kick things off. Due to player movement accompanied by massive contracts, the sands of fortune appear to have shifted. The Cubs seem to be a consensus favorite in 2016, but Cub fans know the aura of disappointment surrounding the team. The Giants are riding the wave of even year expectations coupled with pitching additions.
The Red Sox are the AL media darlings. Their off-season pitching additions have some pundits placing them first in the AL East. The two Texas teams - Rangers & Astros - both surprised last season and appear poised for deep runs in 2016. The Indians & White Sox also have been mentioned as dark horse teams for the Wild Card spots.
The Mets and the Royals made needed acquisitions and on-paper appear to again be favorites to win their respective league crowns and rematch in the World Series.
