Talk about a two TE set! Greg Olsen, once a favorite Jay Cutler target, was unceremoniously discarded by Chicago at the insistence of Mike Martz (Then masquerading as an Offensive Coordinator in the NFL). Martz' myopic view of the TE position cost the Bears plenty. As the NFL "discovered" the athletic TE, the Bears had nobody to play the position. One cannot fathom the yardage and scores this cost the Bears on offense. Easier to quantify is the salary they paid Martellus Bennett. Both players have excelled with their current teams. Who knows if the Bears had kept Olsen, they may have passed on signing Bennett. But it is nice to dream.
