SEPTEMBER STALWARTS oF DEFENSE on BEARS SCHEDULE
The Bears will face some top rated Defensive Units in the first month of the season.
Waiting to wreak havoc with Jay Cutler and the Bears' aerial assault will be the likes of Aldon Smith of the 49ers [Smith may be serving a suspension when the Bears visit Levi's Stadium]. Muhhamad Wilkerson leads a Jets Defense many are expecting to be beyond Rex Ryan's expectations.
The season opener will pit the Bears against a Buffalo Defense that features Mario Williams leading the pass rush. Although several veterans left over the summer, the Bills' Defense will present a fierce pass rush and stout run defense with an athletic secondary.
Clay Matthews, our old nemesis in Green Bay, has a new running partner - ex-Bear Julius Peppers. The Packers coaching staff feel Peppers' decline was not induced by Father Time and can be reversed with creative game planning.
Every Defensive unit the Bears face during the 2014 season will have a challenge to slow down and stop Trestman's high powered offense. They are not sneaking up on anybody this season and should be ready to face an amped up opponent every game.
