DAJ700T on 9th Oct 2010.

In the first week of October 2010, Mr Martin Norris retrieved the former Cleveland fire brigade Emergency Tender DAJ700T from its resting place at Monte's of Fencehouses Co Durham. It is seen here at its new base on Teesside. Martin has already cleaned off most of the moss and detrius acquired during its stay at the scrapyard, and you can see how well preserved the body (and paintwork) is. In fact I'm amazed at how good the vehicle is given that its been in a scrapyard for the last fifteen years. Unbelievably it fired up and started sucessfully after three go's on the starter! All the missing parts for the front suspention have now been acquired and are being prepared for re-fitting, and Martin aims to have it up and running by Christmas. I can't wait!
