1388e2 path of fire-- in the land of ice and snow

When it is frequently foggy and misty, gorgeous sunsets are hard to come by. This was taken around 11 PM on the summer solstice while cruising the Inner Passage of Alaska. ( Sunset was after midnight, sunrise again in just a couple of hours. Darkness never really descended-- more like dusk)

 

The mountains around us were covered with snow, and the sun and colors were simply amazing. The waters were so calm, the only ripples were those of our ship.
