8706ex2 Guanaco on the steppes of Argentina
On our travels from El Calafate to Puerto Natales we saw several herds of Guanaco, along with a few grazing solo, in the scrubby grasslands. They are wild, typically not domesticated.
They have very soft wool, and their meat is eaten as well. They are a relative of the llama, the vicuna, and the alpaca.
