3167e Cobalt-winged Parakeets-- in Peru

Such beautiful, noisy birds! We had small flocks of them winging over us, especially before dawn and towards dusk each day.

 

They prefer to be up in the canopy, so getting a clear look at them was indeed a challenge.

 

This was in the rainforest of the Amazon headwaters, Madre de Dios, Peru.

We were fortunate to be able to travel once more, and this was a huge bucket list trip--- Peru and Ecuador, with highlights of visits to the rainforest, Machu Picchu, and the Galapagos Islands. Lots more photos to come in the upcoming weeks.....
