7268ex P900 Mt Cook emerges over Lake Pukaki-- New Zealand

Mt Cook behaves a lot like Denali-- it creates its own microclimate, and only shows itself when the mood strikes. At 3724 meters tall, (New Zealand's tallest mountain) it can certainly do all of that.

We traveled to the Aoraki Mount Cook National Park, but the mountain was shrouded in clouds the evening we arrived. The next morning, it was hidden in fog and snow showers. BUT, as we traveled away from the area, the clouds broke, and we had the chance to see Mt Cook in all its glory.
