5405ex P900 when seasons collide

Hiking in the Smokies up the Alum Cave Bluffs trail, altitude in the 4000s . Air temperature was high 50s, but the snow and ice were still present from the week before. Made for some interesting slick spots on the trail! ( Yes, that snowpile in the bottom of the frame IS the trail)

The green is present year 'round, thanks to the rhododendrons and other greenery that enjoy the moist loamy soil and relative protection in the coves
